Employment

Job Requirements for Deputy Sheriff

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • No prior law enforcement experience required - full training provided upon hire
  • Must possess a valid PA driver's license
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, no age cut off
  • Must be a US Citizen

Applicants certified under Act 120 or the Sheriff’s & Deputy Sheriff’s Training Act are encouraged to apply.

Job Requirements for Courthouse Security

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One (1) year previous experience or training involving security or related field
  • Must possess a valid PA driver's license
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, no age cut off
  • Must be a US Citizen

If you are offered and accept a position within the Sheriff's Office, you will be required to submit the results of a Criminal Background Check, obtained at your own expense, as a condition of employment. This documentation must be provided prior to your hire date.

If you are offered and accept a position as a Deputy Sheriff or Courthouse Security/Bailiff, you will be required to submit the results of a Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse History Clearance, and FBI Fingerprinting. These clearances must also be completed and submitted prior to your hire date as a condition of employment.
