The Monroe County Commissioners in cooperation with the Monroe County Veterans Affairs Office in recognition and gratitude desire to show their appreciation of the military veteran’s service to the community by providing to the eligible veteran or immediate next of kin the following certificates:
Posthumous Recognition provided at the time of a veteran's death.
Commemorative certificate for those who have served in Southeast Asia or the present Global War on Terrorism. Service must be between August 2, 1990 to the present time.
All branches of Federal Military Service and their respective Federalized Reserve components qualify for these commemorative certificates. These certificates can only be obtained by contacting our office at 570-517-3187 and providing proof of Federal Military Service.
- Military discharge paper prior to 1950 (WWII time period)
- DD214 for service since June 27, 1950 to present time
