Complaints and Summons (including Hearing Dates)

The advance deposit is $150.00 - except for deputized service

For deputized service, you will have to contact the county you wish to deputize and obtain their service requirements, phone number, deposit and address. Their deposit should be added to our deposit and submitted in the form of one (1) check made payable to The Sheriff of Monroe County. Our office will issue the check to the deputized county. We will only accept - cash, money order, cashier's check or Pennsylvania attorney checks that are made payable to The Sheriff of Monroe County. We cannot accept personal, certified, and business or out of state checks.

Any unused deposit money will be refunded to you when we make the Return of Service to the Prothonotary. Likewise, any additional monies due will be billed to you and must be paid before we make the Return of Service to the Prothonotary.

Required forms for Service of Complaints and Summons
 
  • One (1) Complaint or Summons per defendant or company
  • One (1) Sheriff Service Process Receipt per defendant or complaint to be served; please include all addresses information in #9 - Special Instructions Or Other Information That Will Assist in Expediting Service on the Sheriff Service Process Receipt. 
    • (After clicking on the Sheriff Service Process Receipt, type in the blanks, print the form and return with your service paperwork.) ADOBE READER is required to open the Sheriff Service Process Receipt. 
  • A self-addressed, stamped envelope for your Affidavit of Return
