Pocono Mountains United Way - Hospitality & Restaurant Worker Relief Fund
On Friday and over the weekend, the Pocono Mountains United Way established the Hospitality & Restaurant Worker Relief Fund in partnership with the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau, United Way and Chamber organizations from Wayne, Pike, Monroe, and Carbon Counties. Our overall goal is to raise a minimum of $100,000 which would allow us to support 400 individuals with a $250 contribution.
We hosted a press conference this morning at Barley Creek to announce the initiative. We are desirous of bringing as many partners on board as possible so that we can provide some level of aid to as many folks who are in need as we can. Applicants can apply via the Pocono Mountains United Way Covid-19 page. Income eligibility and proof of employment will be required. Applications will be accepted from individuals that work in the four counties of the Pocono Mountains.
Here is a link to the press release that was sent out earlier today.
Please join me in thanking the Pocono Mountains United Way team as they went above and beyond to quickly develop the website landing page and application.

Finally, I would like to thank the board of the PMVB for agreeing to a kick-start donation of $50,000. They were integral in this process and are very aware of the extreme value these hard-working employees provide daily to the Pocono Mountains and the millions of guests who visit us annually.
